The Zamfara state chapter of People Democratic Party PDP has received the whole structure of All Progressive Congress from Maru Local Government Area who unanimously registered their defection, paying true allegiance to PDP and Governor Dauda Lawal.

The formal defection took place at Government House in Gusau where they came out in mass to declare their stand for PDP and Governor Lawal, stating the numerous infrastructural and human developments which are practically carried out in the state by the rescue administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.

Receiving the decamped APC members, the PDP leader and the Governor of Zamfara state, Dr. Dauda Lawal appreciated the courage that the people of Maru have exercised.

The people of Maru defied the destructive politics of food stuffs and trapped money which aimed at bringing the state backward and sustaining the future of banditry including other forms of criminalities, embracing the Government of goodwill, humanity and development.

Before the inception of Governor Dauda Lawal, Bandits were seen in government house at every end of the month, trooping in to collect their share of allocation, which made them grew stronger in the days of his predecessor.

Governor Dauda Lawal came up with a slogan “No negotiation with bandits”, putting an end to the wanton policy of feeding bandits at every month end, energizing them to reck havoc on the innocent people of the state.

The Governor noted that his coming into the office was the will of the people and he has tried all his possible best to ensure that all 14 LGAs of the state received developmental projects not less than N10 billion.

The Governor explained that, his major focus at the moment is not politics, rather, it’s the earnest desire to ensure total transformation of the state.

He welcomed the people of Maru to the party and promised equal treatment for all, advising them to play by the rules of the party, promoting peace and unity within the party structure in Maru.

Speaking on behalf of the decamped APC members were Hon. Bello Mohammed Jabaka, Hon. Yahuza Ibrahim Ruwanrudowa and Hon. Umar Kanuma. They commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his giant strides and declared unflinching support for him come 2027 general elections.

Presence at the occasion were the Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Malan Mummune, the SSG, the Commissioners, Chief of Staff, PDP chairman and other dignitaries. (The Sun)
