National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said that the party is ready for the 2027 general elections, stressing that no force can stop it from winning the presidential, governorship and other seats in the country.

He stated this while featuring on Jay FM 101.3, in Jos, Plateau State capital.

Daily Trust reports that opposition leaders have been strategizing to stop President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, following what they consistently describe as his failure in governance sequel to the prevailing hunger, poverty, high rate of unemployment and insecurity among others.

But the Presidency and the ruling party (APC) have consistently dismissed the allegations as false and without substance, describing the administration as superb.

Prof Yilwatda said there is no formidable force that can defeat the APC, explaining that all the opposition parties, including the coalition party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) “are locally based in pockets of communities spread across the country, plagued by parochialism.”

He cited the recent victory of the APC in the by-elections held in 12 states, saying the same fate would befall the opposition in 2027.

Yilwatda also dispelled the claim that the APC is driving Nigeria towards a one-party state, and responsible for the internal crisis bedeviling the major opposition parties, saying the crises were self-inflicted.

He said the opposition coalition lacks committed and determined leadership, describing it as “marriage of convenience” that would later implode.

The APC helmsman said unlike in the past when governors used to borrow to pay salaries, President Tinubu’s policies have enabled states to generate huge funds, sustain salary payments, and effectively manage governance and project execution, hence the defection of opposition governors to the APC.
