A tweet by presidential hopeful, Mr. Peter Obi, referencing a news report he read in your authoritative online daily newspaper, News Express, has attracted massive attention on X (formerly Twitter).

“I just read from http://newsexpressngr.com with deep concern about the inhumane treatment meted out to a young lady in Anambra State,” the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) had tweeted from his verified handle, @PeterObi, at 6:58 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

In the tweet entitled “A Cry for Justice Against Barbarism in Anambra”, Obi strongly condemned the stripping and brutalization of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by eight members of the Anambra State Government-owned Agunechemba vigilante group. The former Anambra State Governor called for justice for the lady.

As at yesterday evening, Friday, August 29, 2025, the tweet had attracted some 404,500 views, 543 comments, 4,200 reposts, and 9,200 likes.
