‘Enough is Enough’, former Rep sparks over attacks, threats against FCT indigenes

Hon Micah Jiba

Hon. Micah Jiba, lawmaker who represented AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has demanded an immediate end to the “brutal attacks, threats, and marginalization” against indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement titled “Fmr. Reps Member Jiba DEMANDS END to Marginalization and Attacks”, Hon. Jiba expressed outrage over the alleged cold-blooded killing of a youth during a peaceful protest at the National Assembly.

This protest was sparked by the mission of FCT indigenes from the recently constituted North Central Development Commission (NCDC).

Hon. Jiba also highlighted the demolitions in Karasana and Bwari, which were carried out without proper compensation, leading to further tragedy, including the death of another indigene.

Despite his initial support for the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Hon. Jiba stated that “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” and that FCT indigenes will no longer tolerate being treated like second-class citizens.

Drawing inspiration from the FCT Minister’s past tenure as the best governor in his state, Hon. Jiba urged the minister to replicate that exemplary performance in the FCT.

He demanded an end to the demolition and constant attacks and intimidation by the police and developers on ancestral land.

Hon. Jiba ultimately demanded immediate intervention from the FCT Minister to put an end to these senseless attacks and marginalization. He also scrutinized the role of the Senator representing FCT and the two Houses of Representatives in Abuja North and South, questioning their duty to protect and serve FCT residents’ interests.

The former lawmaker concluded by calling on all FCT indigenes to remain firm and vigilant, vowing to continue fighting for their rights and demanding justice. (Weekend Trust)
