Military won’t compromise in carrying out its duties: Air Chief

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, says that the military will not compromise in its responsibilities to the nation.

Air Marshal Abubakar also urged various communities across Nigeria to support soldiers in ensuring peace.

He expressed sadness at the avoidable clash between military and civilians that led to the loss of lives in Kpaidna villages in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, north-central Nigeria.

The Air Chief, during a condolence visit at Government House in Minna, appealed to the Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, to enlighten the people on security to avoid future occurrence.

He also urged the people of the state to go about their normal activities and promised to sustain the peaceful coexistence in the state.

The Air Marshal noted that he was in Niger State to inspect the existing infrastructure with a view to improve on them, adding that measures have been put in place to establish Aircraft Maintenance Repairs Organisation in Minna in collaboration with the state government, to boost the economy of the state.

Governor Bello on his part asked the military to exercise restraint and called for calm as the state government awaits the report of the investigating team.

He also expressed grief over the incident and called for security consciousness on the part of the people.

The Governor pledged to continue to assist and support all the security agencies to safeguard the people of the state.

He called for the continued synergy between the Nigerian Air Force and the state and commended the military and other security outfits in maintaining peace in Niger State.

Air Marshal Abubakar also made a courtesy call on the Emir of Minna, HRH Umar Bahago, at his palace and inspected the Air Force Primary School in the community, where he pledged to add a secondary school for the benefit of the community. (Channels TV)
