National President of Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), Comrade Prince Chimezie Obuka, has warned the Nigeria Government against the use of force on the Niger Delta militants.

The Biafra youth leader who was in Nembe recently for a BNYL congress, disclosed that some militants “who were aware of my visit surprisingly came out from the creeks to meet with me. They surrounded me with their boast in the middle of the water along Nembe water ways.

“They said that they will not stop violence until the Federal Government frees non-violent Biafra activists.”

Comrade Obuka further debunked claims that Niger Delta elders are sponsors of militancy. “It is not true that IYC and Ijaw elders are sponsoring militants. They fund themselves from the money they make from illegal bunkering,” he toldNews Express.

He advised that “the Federal Government should withdraw troops from Niger Delta and end the curfew imposed on Nembe people for peace to reign.”
