Heavy exchange of gunfire between militants and the Nigeria military is reportedly on-going in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
“The gun duel between militants and the Nigeria Army is raging in Nembe, Bayelsa State.
Fighter jets have also been sighted in the skies,” said a report by the London-based Elombah online newspaper.
“Presently, the actual cause of the gun battle is unknown,” the report said, adding that “there are scores of deaths already recorded, including soldiers.”
