Embattled axed Chairman of the Appropriation Committee in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumini Jibrin, has pleaded with all living Nigerian former Heads of State to join in his crusade to bring Speaker Yakubu Dogara and three others to book for alleged budget padding.
Those to whom he extended the plea are Gen Yakubu Gowon, Gen Olusegun Obasanjo, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Gen Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar and Dr Goodluck Jonathan. He is also wooing the diplomatic community, particularly the Ambassador of the United States of America, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, the German and French Ambassadors, as well as “all well-meaning Nigerians.”
Jibrin in a statement issued on Sunday evening also called on the anti-corruption agencies to expedite action on investigation and commencement of prosecution in line with the anti-corruption stand of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He called on the anti-corruption agencies to investigate the illegal monthly collection of N25 million and provide proof of how Dogara is funding his farm in Nasarawa State “which was few hectares six months ago, but has now expanded to about 100 hectares, with new buildings and state-of-the-art equipment which worth millions, as well as the mansion he has suddenly built in Wuse II within six months.”
