Lagos Oba freed after 20 days in kidnappers’ den

Oba Yushau Oseni, the traditional ruler of Iba Town, in Lagos State, Nigeria’s Southwest, has been released from captivity, after spending over 20 days with his kidnappers.

Police Authorities on Saturday confirmed this.

Fatai Owoseni, Commissioner of Police in Lagos State said the traditional ruler is now back in his palace.

The monarch was kidnapped in his palace, on Saturday, July 16, 2016 killing three persons, in the process.

Officials say the leader of the gang of kidnappers has been arrested by security agents.

Even though the kidnappers had demanded the sum of N40 million ransom, It’s not clear if any ransom was paid before he was freed.
