
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition fortoday,Sunday, August 7, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over most parts of the regions with chances of localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Kano, Potiskum and Nguru axis. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Sokoto, Gusau and Yelwa later in the day. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 28- 33 oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Morning cloudiness is expected with slim chances of isolated rains over Abuja, Lokoja, and Ilorin axis. Isolated thunderstorms are not unlikely over the high grounds of the central cities including Kaduna, Zaria, Jos and Jalingo in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 23- 31 o C.
SOUTHERN STATES: Increased cloudiness is anticipated during the morning hours with likely hood of localised rain showers over Akure, Oshogbo, and Ibadan. There are possibilities of localised rain showers over the coastal cities such as Lagos, Delta, Calabar and Port Harcourt including inland areas like Enugu, Owerri and Awka later in the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 25- 30 o C.
