
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the May/June 2016 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.
A total of 878,040 candidates, indicating 52.97%, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.”
The figures represent an increase from the statistics of the last two years.
A total of 38.68% obtained five credits and above in 2015 while the figure stood at 31.28% in 2014.
The examination board withheld 137,295 candidates’ results out of the 1.5 million students that sat for the examination.
The results were withheld due to examination malpractice.
The cases are being investigated & reports of the investigation will be presented to the appropriate committee of the Council in due course.
While 158,718 candidates, representing 9.74% have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors mainly traceable.
Among the 1.5 million that sat for the exam, 825,650 were male while 718,585 were females. (TV360 Nigeria)
