Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has insisted that he did not engage in forgery of the 2015 Senate Rule, which brought him into office, adding that no one can remove him from the same office.
He gave this reaction on Monday morning on his Twitter Page, while declaring that whether those that are bent on seeing him out of the Senate succeed or not, the beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme would continue to receive free education.
According to Ekweremadu, “Nobody will remove me because it’s neither by my power nor might but by the special grace of God.”
He added: “Let me also say that no Senator accused me, President of the Senate or the other people of committing any offence or forged any document. My only offence was my emergence as Deputy Senate President. Some people found it unacceptable, and that is why I am being charged.
“It is Saraki and Ekweremadu today. Who knows whose turn it will be next? Using machinery of justice to create disorder is a dangerous and invidious scheme that ultimately will lead Nigeria down. Anger can never help anybody in any circumstance. You just need to be cool and calm.
“I don’t want to talk much because I am involved but for those who are using their offices to persecute others, there is tomorrow and there is God.”
