The Chairman of the People Democratic Party Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has reiterated the commitment of the party to resolve all the challenges bedeviling it.

Governor Bala Mohammed stated this on Friday when he received the leadership of the party from the North-East led by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun who paid him a solidarity visit at the government house in Bauchi.

The governor said that he was delighted to receive stakeholders of the party from the Northeast who have always supported and shown him solidarity as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

He noted that the Northeast is the center of politicking in Nigeria, pointing out that this has further strengthen the bond between members of the party from the region.

“I am happy over your visit and have gotten first hand information on what is happening in the party and as loyal party members, of all that is happening, the leadership tussle, the court judgements and what have you, would soon be addressed and PDP will come out strong.

“This is why I always said that we may have problems and political hiccups, but certainly, we have a way of coming back and taking stock of our problems and challenges and making sure that we have a common front.

“The coming of Ambassador came at a day that we have a lot of problems in the party because from what I heard of the stories from the media and I had the privilege of discussing extensively with the Acting National Chairman, the happenings in the party, the suspensions and other legal issues and so on. As a leader, I am highly privileged to get this first hand information because it will determine our actions and collaborations.

“The most important thing today is that the Northeast is one, we are together and we are unified, including those that are not here and of course, as I have promised the Acting National Chairman, for this show of solidarity and respect, I will consult with my colleagues, the governors on the next line of action that we would take because this is a very good outing,” he said.

Speaking earlier during the visit, the PDP Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun said that they were at the government house to appreciate Governor Bala Mohammed as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum as well as discuss on issues affecting the party.

Damagun pledges his continuous loyalty and support to the party, assuring that the PDP would bounce back and take over power in 2027.

“We are here today to reiterated our commitment to the unwavering support that Governor Bala Mohammed has given to the party right from inception when he was governor. The Chairmen of the Northeast state chapters of the party are here today to support me to reiterate their commitment that the Northeast is one and that they believe in the leadership of the Governors’ Forum,” he said.
