The Ondo State Government will this week pay the December 2015 salary to all its workers.
This is in keeping with the agreement reached at the over four hours meeting held Tuesday night in Akure between the State Government’s delegation led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko and labour leaders led by the chairmen of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Public Service Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters, Mr. Dayo Fadahunsi, confirmed that the December salary for workers in state would be paid this week while workers in the local government and primary school teachers would get their January 2016 salaries immediately as well.
Also, the State Chairman of JNC, Comrade Sunday Adeleye, said the labour unions agreed with the government that additional two months salaries would be paid by the end of this month.
Comrade Adeleye disclosed that December and January salaries of workers at the Ondo State Petroleum Development Commission (OSOPADEC) would also be paid from today.
