Military Pensions Board to conduct verification for pensioners in IDPs camps

The Military Pensions Board (MPB) said on Friday that it would conduct a special verification to capture military retirees displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency in Adamawa and neighbouring states.

This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja by Lt. Commander Samuel Odunsi, the Coordinator of the special verification.

Odunsi said the exercise would hold on May 5, at Gibson Jalo Cantonment in Jimeta-Yola, at 9 a.m.

He assured the board has concluded all arrangements to conduct a hitch-free verification in the state on the scheduled date.

The coordinator said the exercise was designed for pensioners in Adamawa and neighbouring states who were not captured in 2015 as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.

Odunsi urged all military pensioners in affected areas to take advantage of the new window and be integrated into the board’s new computerised database for prompt payment of the pension.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Military Pensions Board in 2015 conducted a nationwide verification for retirees on its payroll as part of measures to enhance its operations. (NAN)
