El-Rufia orders investigation of NNPC fuel station fire, condoles families of the dead

Governor of Kaduna State Nasir el-Rufai has directed security agencies to investigate the immediate cause of the fire incident at an NNPC-accredited fuel station fire in the state capital on Saturday evening. News Express was among the first to report the tragic fire incident that claimed three lives.

Speaking today through Samuel Aruwan, his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Governor El-Rufai said he received the news with shock and expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State to the families of those that lost their lives.

He also prayed for the recovery of those that survived the incident with severe wounds and those that lost their vehicles and properties in the inferno.

“The government is also using this medium to appeal to all those involving in selling the products . . . it is important citizens take issues related to environmental hazards and security serious,” he said.
