Two suspected cultists were yesterday caught unawares during initiation in a bush at Imosan Ijebu, via Ago Iwoye in Ogun State.
The duo (Obasanjo Segun and Musari Saheed) were rounded up by a team of policemen from Ago Iwoye Division.
New members, who claimed to have been forcefully initiated into the gang, reported the matter leading to the police swift response to the scene
The suspects, resident of Computer Village, Ago Iwoye, have owned up to the allegation and identifed themselves as members of Black Axe.
Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Abeokuta for further investigation, promising to flush out cultists from the state.
“Cultism is the basis for any crime or social vices. If cultism is tackled, crime is 90% tackled,” he said.
