On the heels of an allegation of diversion of fuel tankers to Benin Republic, the Otunba Adisa Osiefa-led Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria (Badagry Chapter) has faulted the allegation.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Vice-President of the association, Alhaji Ganiyu Adelani described the allegation as a fabrication meant to confuse the public.
Adelani said the heavy presence of law enforcement agents on Seme border is a natural obstacle to such unpatriotic operation, thus concluding that it is impossible to divert tankers to the neighbouring country.
“The Customs and other security agents on that route cannot allow such to happen. So, the allegation is farther from the truth. We should have ignored it but we felt that there is a limit to such silence. We have to speak out now as a relevant pressure group and to ensure our security agents are not seen in a bad light,” he said.
