Benue indigenes have dragged the Federal Government before the ECOWAS Court of Justice for alleged complicity and failure to protect lives and property from invading armed herdsmen into farming communities, killing over a thousand persons across the state.

The indigenes under the auspices of the Movement Against Fulani Occupation disclosed this today at a peaceful protest rally to the Benue state house of assembly to present a bill prohibiting free grazing in the state.

Leader of the protest, Rev. Fr. Solomon Ukeyima, while presenting the bill to state legislature, says the herdsmen must leave Benue state since they cannot live peacefully with their host communities. (Channels TV)
