Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have hurriedly shut the school and ordered the students to go home following continued protest over irregular supply of water and electricity in the school.
The protests started Thursday, with irate students locking up the gates of the university and restricting movement, saying they were fed up after enduring three days without water.
News Express learnt that the students have in the past few days been forced to bath with sachet water. “Apart from being very expensive, we don’t even see the ‘pure water’ to buy again as everybody is looking for it,” one of the students said this morning as she left school.
