Pakistani, Cameroonian illegal immigrants rounded up in Calabar

The Cross River State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested and paraded two illegal immigrants, Shahid Mahmood, a Pakistani and Nji Haeges-Chi from Cameroon.

Briefing journalists at the Command headquarters in Calabar, the Command Comptroller, Funke Adeuyi, disclosed that the immigrants were arrested at Yahe in Yala Local Government Area of the state by the border patrol team.

According to her, after a thorough profiling of the two illegal immigrants, it was discovered that both of them had no valid traveling documents to be in Nigeria.

She added that the Pakistani national was smuggled into Nigeria by his Cameroonian accomplice, which according to her, poses a security threat.

The illegal immigrants she maintained would be subjected to further security checks. (Channels TV)
