Saraki docked as tribunal begins trial; case adjourned to March 18

Senate President Bukola Saraki returned to dock again, this morning as the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) finally commenced his trial for alleged false declaration of assets.

The case, which was halted Appeal Court order after his initial arraignment last year, began in earnest following the Supreme Court verdict okaying the trial.

The case, presided over by CCT Chairman, Justice Danladi Umar, has been adjourned to March 18, 2016.

Saraki was accompanied to the court by Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Senator Shehu Sanni, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, the controversial Senator Dino Melaye, and Senate Leader Ali Ndume.
