D-Tunes
By IFECHI OKOH
Music, according to its academic theory, is the art of arranging tunes in an orderly sequence so as to produce a unified and harmonious compositions. In reality, it does not have one concrete meaning. It connotes different meanings to different persons. Hence, it is unique to various hearers which explains the level of likeness or otherwise of such albums by different persons. No wonder, dancers do so many funny things on the dance floor, depending on how it touched their reflex at that moment. This is simply the creative handiwork of the packagers otherwise known as the producers, perhaps as a result of their creative overflow. Today, Showbiz Xtra will be parading three of the seven wonderful magic fingers in this Part One edition. Now, lets welcome the oracle of them all, Don Jazzy, and two other frontliners in the concern: ID Cabassa and the D-Tunes.
DON JAZZY
This celebrity producer, remains the de-facto of the seven producers on parade. He is naturally massive in built and also in creativity which he has since demonstrated boldly in the productions of top acts like Tiwa Savage, D.Banj, Rekaado Banks, D.Prince (younger brother), and Wande Coal, now on his own. He made them big on his Mohits records, co-founded with D. Banj, years before he established Marvin records. When D.Banj finally turned his back on the label as a result of serious misunderstanding, he forged ahead successfully till date as a result of his solid hold on productions of first class acts. Today, Jazzy Still remains the hottest and biggest among the Nigerian producers. For now, no possible successor in sight.
ID CABASSA
Looking ever slim and quiet as if he is not the owner of that brand name which has been opening doors for him over the years. That's simply one puzzling contrast about the celebrated ID Cabassa whose name, not only opens doors, but also evokes instant applause from music lovers, watchers and followers. It is on good source that he made top stars like Pasuma Wonder, 9ice, Lord of Ajasa, and 2phat.Few years back, he bounced back to the centre stage with a number which he penned and produced, featuring Olamide a.k
a Baado and Whizkid. While it sizzled, music pundits described it as an old wine in a new bottle.
D-TUNES
This magic finger strongly believed to be doing well in the music packaging concern, is relatively known on the beats scene. However, he has an unwavering belief in his talent and this interestingly has been working for him over the years. If D-Tunes decides quietly to plant a supposedly gifted act on the podium, all he would do is to package a hit single which labels him as an undeniable hit maker. With this magic in place, he can take any act he is interested in straight, from nowhere to the top. We scooped that he has done these in the past with the works of Iyanya, precisely with the no Kurukere, and Sean Tizzle, Sho Lee. He confirmed these hits in the year 2012 and 2013 respectively. No wonder discerning music watchers and followers stamped him as a special music packager who showcased boldly what it takes to churn out hits successfully which he did consecutively a year after the other.
