Oga Bello
Last week, when served notice that we will be showcasing the concluding part of our movie Mafias parade, close feelers who have been feeding us with the lowdown of who-is-who in Nollywood, called us immediately, pledging to provide fivemore Powerful cliques and names of their respective leaders. You can enjoy it right away!
AWOYOKUN CLIQUE, ONIPANU
This clique, according to our informed feeler, is headed by celebrated twin producers in persons of Tunji Bamishigbin and Ralph Nwadike, packagers of the defunct, but well-known soap opera, Palace, which actually shot into focus, the likes of Liz Benson, Jide Kosoko, and other top Nollywood actors and actresses. Kunle Cooker, Ayo Adesanya, Funso Adeolu and Nobert Young belonged to the front-liners of the clique. Their sterling roles, not only fetched them attention of some top notch marketers, producers and directors; it also gave them steady roles in their productions for years.
CEMETERY STREET, EBUTTE-METTA
The powerful clique is piloted by versatile marketer and producer, Chief (Dr) Yemisi Jaiyeola, and Gbenga Adewusi (a.k.a Baba Itunu) and owner of Bayowa Film Productions International, a production kingpin in Nollywood. Their proficiency in production, directing and marketing has since stood them out in the movie packaging concern. Their contemporaries too, may have also noticed those outstanding qualities and perhaps applauded their creativity and energy over the years. This did not actually end here as most of their contemporaries give them jobs with encouraging payments, thereby placing them in an enviable position and pedestal in Nollywood over the years. No wonder, their offices are usually crowded by a bunch of fellow top marketers, actors, actresses, producers and directors for business sake.
SEINDE CALISTO CLIQUE, OSHODI
Nigerias Numero Uno in cinematography, Tunde Kilani, who owns Mainframe Productions, Oshodi, Lagos, leads this set. They are noted and Celebrated for excellent packages. Their committed members include Professor Akinwunmi Ishola, Yemi Sodimu, who, feelers claimed, was no longer a committed member because of his private television programme which started years ago; Deji Adenuga, Elder Lere Paimo, Tunde Adegbola and other Yoruba top stars have been committed morally and financially to the clique for years which placed them in the front row of other cliques in Nollywood.
OLAIYA CLIQUE, ABEOKUTA
This Ogun State-based group is undoubtedly a force to embrace in the Yoruba make-believe concern; their tentacles have since spread to Kwara, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti, leaving out Lagos. Their effective network covers these States. Interestingly, marketers who have been dealing with them over the years know and love this spread which many of them confessed have been giving them the kind of confidence that have since consolidated their relationship. The place of this clique in Nollywood has really grabbed the confidence of members by guaranteeing their rights and regular job offers.
ATITEBI CLIQUE
The group, well reverenced in Nollywood, is headed by Consequential Adebayo Salami, massively called Oga Bello, over the decades. This clique which commands an unwavering followership in the industry is actually regarded as the haven of top actors, actresses, directors and producers who are all committed members of this power broker of the Atitebi clique which has seen tempestuous situations and survived them too. The clique may have really stamped the reason why all members are so full and proud of themselves whenever they are dealing with members of other cliques who they see as subordinates. The only unfortunate clause of being a member of this exalted Atitebi clique is that all members are under strict expectation to adhere seriously to their rules and regulations which their leader sees as the bible for everyone to hold dear to their hearts.
