President Muhammadu Buhari minutes ago confessed that does not have any credible information that the Chibok girls are still alive or where they are. He made the confession during the on-going Presidential Media Chat.

Asked if he has any intelligence that the girls, kidnapped in April 2014 from their school dormitory in Chibok, Borno State, are still alive, Buhari replied: “That is what we are looking for; we are looking for a credible Boko Haram leader who will come out and tell us that the girls are live.”

Asked the question again, the retired army general, who promised during electioneering campaigns to rescue the over 200 schoolgirls if elected during the March 28, 2015 presidential ballot, said: “I am working with Niger, Chad and Cameroon but there is no firm intelligence of where those girls physically are.”

Buhari fielded questions on some other topical issues, including the war against corruption and against Boko Haram terrorists – the latter of which he had directed the Nigerian military to win this year.
