Two female suicide bombers have detonated a bomb in a market in Madagali, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The bomb blast, which occurred at about 8:00am on Monday morning, killed 17 civilians while 44 persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
According to the Brigade Commander, 28 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Victor Ezugu, those injured were evacuated to the 143 Rangers Battalion military facility in Madagali and the General Hospital in Mubi.
Those with critical cases have been moved to Yola for immediate attention.
According to Military sources on Monday evening, the situation in the town was calm and residents were going about their businesses undisturbed. (Channels TV)
