Police suspends promotion screening of officers with Degree/HND

The Police Management Team and the Police Service Commission have decided to put on hold the ongoing screening exercise of policemen who acquired Degree/HND while in service.

“The decision was based on allegation of malpractices and innuendoes going around,” Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olabisi Kolawole, said.

She quoted IGP Solomon E. Arase, as disclosing this on December 24 during a meeting with the Police Management Team.

“The Police High Command and Police Service Commission have decided to engage the services of independent assessor for neutrality and free exercise. When the exercise is completed, each State of the federation will have equal number of representation,” ACP Olabisi Kolawole said in a statement issued today in Abuja.

The IGP, according to her, “enjoined all qualified policemen to be patient and ensure they attend the oncoming screening exercise to be scheduled by the independent body. He assured that all qualified policemen will be considered appropriately.”
