Troops repel Boko Haram attack on Army Chief Buratai’s hometown

Brave Nigerian troops have repelled the attempt on Buratai, the hometown of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, by Boko Haram terrorists.

Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, told News Express minutes ago: “They attempted trying our special forces there but were repelled. They were fanning out from Ajigun and Talala.”

Buratai is located in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, North-East Nigeria.

The daring attack comes days to the end of the December deadline given to the Nigerian military by President Buhari to defeat Boko Haram.

This is the second time Boko Haram would be attacking Buratai since July 2015, when the incumbent Army Chief took office.

The teroorists had also attacked the community in February 2014, when Buratai, then a Major General, was the head of the Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta.
