A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja today granted bail to immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), and four others being tried over alleged money laundering that has become known as armsgate.
Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf granted the bail to the accused persons in the sum of N250m on the condition that each of them would produce a surety who must be a serving or retired ‹civil servant ‹not lower than the rank of a director. The judge ordered that the c‹ivil servants must also show evidence of possession of a property within the FCT worth the same amount‹.‹
The others arraigned with Dasuki are Former Director of Finance, Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Shuaibu Salisu, former Group General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba ‹Kusa, and two firms, Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Reference Hospital.
All the accused we‹re also requested to deposit copies of their international passports with the ‹court registrar‹. They are to also‹ required to bring to the attention of the court any travel arrangement they may want to make outside the FCT.
