Ugly side of five showbiz celebrities

By IFECHI OKOH

Some of the showbiz celebrities may have forgotten completely that as a result of their social standing in the society, all eyes are on them. This obvious submission automatically makes them news-makers. For this singular reason, they should be mindful of their action and speech which are likely to give wrong signal to the receivers of such messages. To awaken the consciousness of some already guilty persons who showcased their ugly side by reflex action, here are the lineup of celebrities who may have stepped on the toes of some innocents persons:

EUCHARIA ANUNOBI

The star actress single parent-turned evangelist who appears to have found succor in the Lord after being in the storm of controversies, undoubtedly qualifies for this showcase because of her obvious pride which may not have gone down well with sizable numbers of news hounds. This reporter had a taste of it when the lanky and pretty lady said on phone: “You can do your interview on phone if you want me badly, I am not easy to trap you know!” This, she did with reckless abandon. Imagine this, after concerted efforts and postings in a bid to get a date with her. It is quite unfair.

KEH-KEH OGUNGBE

This television Producer/Presenter, who many maintain is arrogant off-air, remains a character trait without apology. So many times, this reporter tried to get an interview date with him to no avail. Each time a call goes out to him, he feigns to be busy, suggesting another try and new date after bumming my line.

However, thegame was actually up when he refused to pick my several calls. In my usual fashion when pushed to the wall, I sent him a prompting aresponse. This face-saving move really put paid to my efforts to chat with somebody many newshounds maintain is arrogant.

FUNSO ADEOLU

To God be the glory that this fine actor is just a Southwest celebrity. Had it been he is a cross over professional who made his name as English/Yoruba language actor, his arrogance thatencourages him to talk about Igbo marketers despicably would have dominated discussions in movie or showbiz circle. Incredible? Oh yes! This is because he would have been carrying himself too high in a disturbing manner that will make fans to yell at him publicly in an embarrassing fashion.

ODUN ADEKOLA

This frontline Yoruba actor may be described as a confessed tribalist by disposition. This actually came to the open when Weekend Circuit wanted an extensive chat for our panache pages. When he learnt it was not a South West publication, he suddenly asked that the interview date be postponed to three days’ time. As expected, this Reporter tried frantically to reach him on phone that day, he refused to pick the calls which a male voice that claimed to be his Personal Assistant (PA) managed to pick and advised that we should re-schedule the appointment. On the said date, it was same scenario. That really killed my enthusiasm and also ended the move.

ARTQUAKE DUE

Numerous persons these celebrity showbiz stars must have disappointed with their promise and fail disposition will, no doubt, know this as the duo’s ugly side which needs urgent dusting if serious minded persons are to do business with them.

TIMAYA

His is simply hyper arrogance which is no longer new to everybody. There is nowhere the dread-locked spotting act goes without showing this weakness. He was actually too full of himself recently when he directed a senior entertainment journalist to his “small boy” manager for a date to chat with him. You see the problem with his arrogance.
