NYSC urges corps members owed allowances to be patient

The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Wednesday, urged corps members owed allowances to exercise patience as efforts were being made to effect payment.

The management said in a statement in Abuja that although the payment schedule was forwarded on time but that there was a delay in crediting the affected accounts.

It said that the delay was due to challenges arising from failed bank transactions and also the inability of the settlement centre to effect the payment.

According to the statement, those affected are some 2015 Batch ‘A’ corps members who had yet to receive the September 2015 allowance.

Others were the recently discharged 2014 Batch ‘C’ corps members who had yet to receive the September and October 2015 transport allowance.

The statement said that the NYSC management expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the delay and assured corps members that the problem was being addressed. (NAN)
