The media aide of Professor Isaac Adewole, incumbent Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan and one of the ministerial nominees screened yesterday by the Senate, has risen in stout defence of his principal in the face of the opposition to his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A group chaired by one Mr Kayode Bello a.k.a Kay Bello, had petitioned the Senate, telling it not to confirm Prof. Adewole as a minister on account of alleged corruption.
Responding to what he sees as a campaign of calumny against his boss, the media aide, Mr Sunday Saanu, said in a Facebook post written in Yoruba Language:
“Imo kimo komaa gbo do joo
Ete kete ko le duro o
Enikeni to ba gbe ro ika
Yio fori ara re gbe
Tori Oluwa le mi baa duro.”
Translated, it simply means: “In other words, no amount of petition from a faceless writer can stop this God-ordained miracle.”
News Express reports that Prof. Adewole shone brilliantly during his screening, which deferred for up to three times for reasons best known to the Senate. His confirmation by the upper chamber is being awaited.
