CDHR elects officers

Foremost human rights organisation, the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) on Saturday elected a new set of officers to run its affairs for another two years.

Speaking at the rescheduled Annual General Conference (AGC) of the organisation, before the election, chairman of CDHR Caretaker Committee, Comrade Debo Adeniran, stated that the training and continuous trainings of members of defence of rights of the people should be the concern of the new National Executive Members. He maintained that expansion of CDHR across the length and breadth of the country should be a priority of the elected leaders.

At the end of the keenly contested elections the following officers were elected:

1. Barrister Malachy Ugwumadu – President

2. Comrade Idris Saka – Vice President

3. Comrade Deji Adebowale – General Secretary

4. Comrade James Chikwendu – Ass Gen. Secretary

5. Comrade Rasheed Ropo Raji – Publicity Secretary

6. Barr. Dahiru Bulama – Legal Adviser.

7. Mr. Victor Oduleye – Treasurer.

8. Comrade David Okoro – Internal Auditor.
