NEMA confirms 27 dead, 96 injured in Yola bomb blast

About 27 persons died and 96 injured in yesterday afternoon’s explosion at Jambutu Mosque in Adamawa State during Juma’at prayer, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said last night.

It added that injured victims were evacuated to Federal Medical Centre, Yola and Specialist Hospital Jimeta.

The explosion occurred during Jumuat Service at a mosque in Jambutu area of Jimeta, a suburb of Yola, the Adamawa State capital in Nigeria’s North-East.

The mosque was newly repainted and the explosion occurred at the perimeter of the crowded mosque.
