Worshippers killed as Yobe mosque is bombed during Friday afternoon prayers

An unidentified number of persons are feared dead after a bomb went off at a mosque in Yola, the capital of Damaturu in North-East Nigeria.

The blast occurred at the mosque in Jambutu on Friday afternoon while worshipers were getting ready for prayers.

The attack happened hours after a suicide bomb attack left six people dead in the early hours of Friday at a Mosque behind a Magistrate Court around the Polo area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

Our correspondent in the state said injured persons have been taken to a specialist hospital in Yola.

No group has claimed responsibility for both attacks.

A terrorist group, Boko Haram, has carried out similar attacks in the past. (Channels TV)
