Suicide bomber’s accomplices on the run

Two accomplices of the lone suicide bomber who this morning successfully attacked a mosque in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State in Nigeria’s North-East, are currently on the run after escaping from the scene of the incident, a report from the area said.

According to PRNigeria, a newswire known for the distribution of government-related stories, features and statements, “the explosion was carried out by a suspected lone suicide bomber whose two accomplices escaped, when some vigilant members of the community accosted them on their suspicious movements.”

“The incident occurred during the early Morning Subhi Prayer at a mosque behind Magistrate Court Polo Area in Maiduguri,” PRNigeria said.

It disclosed that rescuers from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have evacuated six dead bodies of the victims of suicide bombing and deposited them in the mortuary, while about 17 other injured victims are being treated in specialist and teaching hospitals in Maiduguri.
