UNILORIN advised to introduce more courses and programmes

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has been called upon to introduce applied courses related to Botany, Zoology, Physics, Linguistics, Geography and more Philosophy-related programmes so as to further consolidate its position among Nigerian universities.

Prof. Isaac Olakanmi Abimbola of UNILORIN Department of Science Education gave this advice yesterday at the Re-Union Luncheon as part of activities marking the 31st Convocation and 40th anniversary Ceremonies of the institution.

Prof. Abimbola also stressed the need for more practical orientation for engineering and agriculture. “The need for new, improved pharmacy and vet medicine programmes, system-wide collegiate system, academic planning unit and the place of curriculum specialist will play a significant role in health sector,” he said in his lecture.

He also stressed the need for continued improvement of the entrepreneurship programmes even as he called for accommodation for staff in the Senate Building under construction.
