The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State has described the numerous road rehabilitation projects being executed by the State Government as a sham that is consuming resources and causing hardship to the residents.
Voicing their grievance through the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Madu Chikwendu, they insisted that the state government should have analyzed the cost implications, which they said is affecting the payment of workers’ salaries in the state.
In reaction to this, the Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Government, Godwin Adindu, said that the criticisms were baseless.
He noted that the construction of roads all year round is for the benefit of the citizens.
Mr. Adindu also hinted that the state government was doing all it could to pay all salaries owed. (Channels TV)
