CAN President condemns Abuja bomb blasts

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), His Eminence, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has condemned Friday night’s bomb attacks on the Kuje and Nyanya areas of the Federal Capital Terrirtoy (FCT), Abuja.

“I am saddened by the resurgence of bomb attacks in the FCT that has resulted in the deaths of many and leaving many others wounded. I strongly condemn the recent barbaric and wicked acts of wickedness by the insurgents and their collaborators. No group or individual that means well foir this country must be seen to support the execution of such acts,” Pastor Oritsejafor said in a statement personally signed by him.

“Nigerians,” the CAN President said, “must wake up from their slumber and begin to guards of their respective homes, streets and communities; we must all join in the fight against insurgency.

Recall that in my Independence message I admonished Nigerians on the need to remain security conscious and suppportive of security operatives.

“Friday bomb attacks in Kuje and Nyanya areas of the FCT emphasises this call on Nigerians to ever remain vigilant and conscious of happenings around them.

“The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) commiserates with the families of those who lost their lives in the attacks while urging authorities to make adequate provisions for the wounded for their speedy recovery.

“My prayer is for God to quickly intervene through those saddled with the responsibility of contiaining these incidences, we must never return those days that put fear in the hearts and minds of our people, we must collectively defeat terror and these we effectively do if we are together.

“Again, I pray for the repose of the dead and speedy recovery of the wounded in the latest attacks on our capital city. May God protect us all.”
