The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured residents of Kogi State that everything is set for the conduct of a free, fair and credible election during the governorship election on November 21.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hussein Halilu Pai made the statement after an assessment tour on the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise in the state.
The Director, Voter Registration, Engr. Emmanuel Akim, with his team was in the state to assess the progress of the voters registration exercise.
While Engr. Akim said the process was satisfactory but advised those living in difficult terrain to make an extra effort to get registered, the Electoral Officer in the area, Mr Sanni Idris said the state is facing challenges of underage voters trying to register.
Mr. Pai said that despite all odds, the Commission is putting in place some centres for those living in difficult terrain for easy voting.
He said the Commission has learnt from its past challenges, assuring that what may pose as challenges during election have been taken care of. (Channels TV)
