Presidential Polls: Niger Delta Youths commend FCT Minister over loyalty to Jonathan

A group of youths from the Niger Delta region on Friday applauded the contributions of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed for stabilising the polity after the Presidential polls.

The youths, under the auspices of Niger Delta Youths Forum noted Mohammed’s role led to the President Goodluck Jonathan’s peaceful acceptance of the outcome of the Presidential election.

The Forum, in a statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by its Leader Prince Afoke Okporus, said the people of the region appreciate the political and supportive role played by the Federal Capital Minister.

The group stated that Mohammed worked hard at ensuring that President Goodluck Jonathan ended its administration on a high note and as the most popular President in Africa.

According to the Youths, the administration of President Jonathan was faced by conspiracies, deceit and man-made challenges before and after the Presidential elections.

It reiterated the contributions of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory at supporting peaceful democracy and stability led to the acceptance of the outcome of the election by Jonathan.

Okporus stated that the administration of the Federal Capital Territory headed by Mohammed served as a stabilising factor in the power play against Jonathan’s the administration.

“We want to appreciate the FCT minister for his patriotism and unalloyed loyalty to President Goodluck Jonathan inspite of the challenges, conspiracies and deceit against the President.

“He remains a performing Minister of FCT with development initiative that opened over five new districts, initiated the land swap system, constructed new roads and rehabilitated existing roads.

“Mohammed built the Abuja railway system, ensured availability of portable water, built the FCT youth empowerment and training centre, empowered the students, he is a loyal allied to President Goodluck Jonathan,” he stated.

The group further recalled that the famous motion of doctrine of necessity that made Jonathan, the acting President and subsequently the President, was moved by Senator Bala Mohammed when he was in the Senate.

According to the group, Mohammed had averted political uncertainty following the death of former President, the timely moving of the motion that rescued the nation from crisis and steered her back to stability.
