The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has disowned a man purporting to be the chairman in Lagos State, who issued a statement claiming that President Goodluck Jonathan cannot win up to ten states during the forthcoming general elections.
National Publicity Secretary Okwukwe Ibiam said the party has nothing to do with Campbell Umeh Nzekwe, whose press release entitled ‘Jonathan can’t win ten states’ embarrassed the party.
“APGA has no Leader or Chairman named Campbell Umeh Nzekwe in Lagos State. All reference to him as Leader or Chairman of our party in Lagos State are false and has no bearing on the APGA party, its officials, members or our electorate in general, or Lagos State in particular,” Ibiam said in a statement issued yesterday.
“We totally dissociate ourselves from people who conveniently use their reach with the press to make statements in our name, or on our behalf,” Ibiam added.
News Express reports that APGA is a traditional ally of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has already committed itself towards working for Jonathan’s re-election during the March 28 ballot.
