In a move that is unprecedented, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan today summoned a meeting of the three arms of government to discuss the issue of corruption with a view to devising fresh strategies to fight the cankerworm.
Held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, the meeting was attended by Vice President Namadi Sambo and Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, as well as heads of the Judiciary and the National Assembly.
Transport & Business Express reports that President Jonathan has come under persistent criticism for his ineffective war against corruption – an allegation which he has always denied.
Analysts say it is too early to say if the meeting, which just ended, signposts a change in the administration’s attitude towards corruption.
