A prominent chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Chief Bullet Otuaro and his over 3,000 of his supporters have defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.
At a rally in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday, Otuaro said with the current political reality in the state occasioned by the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the PDP governorship standard-bearer, it has become clear that Deltans across ethnic and political divides were now united in enthroning quality leadership in the state.

He noted that the PDP was now well positioned to record success in the forthcoming elections in the state due to the commendable antecedents of Okowa, who he described as a man of impeccable character.
The former LP chieftain said it was time for Deltans to move away from ethnic politics anchored on primordial sentiments, which, he observed, “was being propagated by people who do not wish the state well and, therefore, do not have anything tangible to offer.”
He called on the people to vote for the PDP, as it was the only party that has what it takes to move the state forward.
