2015: PPA Leader calls for prayers

Leader of Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) in Anambra State, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, has called on Nigerians to pray for the peaceful conduct of the February 2015 general elections.

He made the call during an interview with journalists at his country home of Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

Ezeemo advised that in view of the incessant bloodshed that has bedeviled the nation’s political environment, Nigerians should embark on prayers for the peaceful conduct of the elections so that God would intervene and avert issues associated with loss of lives and properties.

The philanthropist and publisher of an Anambra-based daily newspaper strongly condemned the repulsive utterances of some politicians, saying that such utterances tend to create political tension.

His words: “The idea of name-calling by some politicians and the notion that the electoral body is incompetent, among other careless talks, are capable of inciting the people.

“Only God’s intervention would calm the minds of the electorate. I call on my fellow Igbos, my immediate constituency, to continue to demonstrate the spirit of oneness, for which they are reputed. I make a similar appeal to all Nigerians.

“As a Christian that believes that the God of Abraham and the Israelites is still the same God, l pray that the election would produce leaders who would be committed to serve with the fear of God and for the interest of the nation.”

Ezeemo opined that with prayers and the peaceful conduct of elections, there would be rapid developments of the country when good leaders are put in place.
