A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawyer in Benin City, Barrister Paul Omoike, has confidently declared that Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole would be removed soon after the February 2015 House of Assembly election in the state.
Omoike, who spoke with News Express in the Edo State capital, expressed confidence that the PDP would win at least 16 seats in the House of Assembly and thus dislodge Oshiomhole’s All Progressives Congress (APC) as the majority party in the House.
“The governor knows in his heart the game is up. He knows the PDP would win at least 16 seats and immediately after being sworn in they will swing into action to commence investigations into the wan to corruption and incompetence of the state government and then commence impeachment proceedings against the governor,” Omoike stated.
The lawyer was scathing in his criticism of the governor’s performance in all sectors of the state.
The Edo State House of Assembly is currently still engulfed in crisis and hold separate sittings mostly according to party lines.
The crisis started when some aggrieved members defected from APC to the PDP. Speculations have been rife that PDP is looking for a way to use the House to oust Oshiomhole.
