All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Chief Victor Umeh, yesterday took his campaign train to the ever busy area of Agulu town popularly known as Nwagu Agulu, where a market, motor parks and bars are located.
Immediately the campaign train pulled up at the ever busy junction and Umeh stepped out of the car with his wife, youths as well as traders and keke/okada riders all rushed out to see him while chants of “Umeh is the man”, “this is the man here live”, Ohamadike, you are there already”, “You are the one we want and no other”, etc, rent the air.
Umeh, without segregation, greeted and shook hands with anyone in sight with a beaming smile before going on to price and buy bananas. Afterwards he walked into a bar where he shook hands with people there and sat down to drink.
The climax came when the youths, women and men thronged Umeh’s table, singing happily and hailing him.
The APGA National Chairman, who extended generousity during the outing, urged the people to get their permanent voters’ cards if they have not done so to be able to vote and put the right people to power.
Umeh had earlier in the day visited Ogidi and Umuoji in the company of Governor Willie Obiano.
At Umuoji, two All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful, Chief Uche Ezeliora and Mr. Nnamdi Ajuluchukwu, took a walk from the clutches of the broom party and crossed over to APGA.
According to Ezeliora, a staunch disciple of Senator Chris Ngige and former Chairman of Idemili North local North Local Government, they decided to move to APGA because the party has a dedicated scheme and zeal to meet the needs of the masses which, he noted, is the essence of governance.
Ezeliora said: “For 2015 elections, we are looking at total victory because when you look at the caliber of people who are now in APGA spear heading the campaign at the various communities, they are the people whose words are power.
“What governor Obiano has been able to achieve since he took the mantle of leadership made us to take that decision to support. There is glory in supporting the right team and you know there are people who make the magic to happen, so we want to be part of that team.”
