Nigeria’s coach, Stephen Keshi has announced his first eleven for this evening’s clash with Burkina Faso in the second match of Group C in the on-going Africa Cup of Nations.
Surprisingly, the Super Eagles gaffer has chosen to bench the likes of Victor Moses and the team’s most reliable goal poacher, Ikechukwu Uche.
Even so, Keshi exuded confidence, saying he expected his boys to open their campaign with a victory in Nelspruit.
His words: “We have equal chances with all other participating teams. We respect our opponents but it will be good we start with a win.”
Competition in the group appears destined to be harder than expected following the gritty performance of Ethiopia, which battled to a one-all draw with defending champions Zambia in the group’s opening match this evening despite playing with a man down for much of the match.
Below are the Super Eagles’ first team against the Burkinabes, as contained in the team list just released in South Africa:
Vincent Enyeama
Jseph Yobo
Elderson Echejile
Efe Ambrose
Ahmed Musa
Brown Ideye
Emmanuel Emenike
Mikel Obi
Fegor Ogude
Godfrey Oboabona
Nosa Igiebor
