Sokoto Governors SA on Youth Matters, Nuraddeen Harande Mahe
The Sokoto Government
says it is committed to the integration of youths in all its programmes and
policies for the overall development of the state.
Malam Nuraddeen Harande
Mahe, Special Adviser on Youth Matters to Governor Aminu Tambuwal, stated this in
his office while inaugurating Youth Volunteers Network in Sokoto State (Himma
Matasa) yesterday, Monday, December 30, 2019.
He said the programme
is aimed at mobilising one million youth volunteers in the state in two years, so
as to participate in the socio-economic development of the state.
“The project is aimed
at reviving the spirit of volunteerism in the minds of Sokoto youths, build a
network of youth within the state and serve as a youth data bank, for the
purpose of closing the deficits in the area of health, sanitation, security and
education, among others,” Nura Harande said.
He explained that the
programme has a steering committee at the state level, headed by himself and
coordinators in all the 23 local government areas in the state.
The Special Adviser
said the present administration has transformed the status of the youths in the
state through the creation of various opportunities for them to be independent.
He noted that the
massive involvement of youths in community development would help them to
consolidate on the achievements of the present administration.
Nura called on people in
the state to support the programme and give suggestions where necessary, for
the even development of the state.
