Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the last Imo governorship primaries, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, has assured his supporters that he is still very much in the Imo governorship race.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters at his campaign office along Onitsha Road in Owerri, the Imo State capital, upon his arrival from Abuja, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume said that he remains the authentic winner of the Imo PDP governorship primaries held on December 8, 2014.
He said that he had met with the leadership of the party and they have assured him that justice would be done in due time.
The leadership of the PDP, having assured all their aspirants of justice, equity and fairness, he said that he was hopeful of picking the governorship ticket on the platform of the party.
After traversing the length and breadth of Owerri in a motorcade, Senator Ararume said that the PDP remains the only party that can muscle out power from the ruling APC in the state.
He gave the assurance that the people of the state and supporters of the PDP would come out enmasse to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan in the forthcoming 2015 general elections. He added that with him as their flag bearer, the PDP in the state would be better positioned to deliver Imo State for the party in 2015.
Senator Ararume had earlier rejected the outcome of the Imo governorship primaries which declared Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, as the winner of the primaries.
